Section map with Vray 3.4 for Sketchup | Mesh clipper

This sketchup video tutorial is based on the new features of v-ray 3.4 for sketchup 2017. One of the most exciting features is the rendering cuts with the use of the default sections of sketchup. It signifies that it identifies the plans of section traditions.

The mesh clipper or VRayClipper belongs to a geometric primitive that is applied to clip away parts of the scene by a simple plane. It is a render-time effect and the actual scene geometry is not revised in any way.

The Mesh Clipper can only be used to group or component objects in SketchUp (sometimes also called as closed geometry). Once a Mesh Clipper object is formed, a bounding box with a Mesh Clipper icon will be visible in the viewport around the group or component that has been selected. The bounding box and icon symbolize the newly employed Clipper object properties.

The Clipper object is replicated among groups or components by arranging them within a new group or component. The object will then obtain all related object properties.
With use of a material to the group or component, the Clipper object will engross the material that has been used and employ it and UV Mapping for the clipped faces.

  1. I like and suggest you to try LongPathTool program. It is very helpful for copying/deleting or renaming long path files.
