How to Create Lattice Texture in Vray for Sketchup

Segal-method Timber Frames For Sketchup

Segal-method Timber Frames for sketchup is a useful sketchup extension that supports SketchUp 2013, SketchUp 2014, SketchUp 2015, SketchUp 2016, SketchUp 2017 as well as Windows and Mac OS X platform.
This sketchup extension can be used to instantly apply segal-method (post and beam) timber frames toward self-made garden office and tiny houses.
With this extension, the novice builders will be able to generate the frame for garden offices, workshops, studios (and "Tiny Houses") covering nearly 30m2 floor area with the use of the Segal-method of post and beam timber framing: minimum pad foundations that manage sloping ground, flexible grid structure, simple bolted timber joints, and applying standard-length timbers to minimize wastage.
Together with the main frame, it can produce mono-pitched (shed) and dual-pitched (gable) roofs with indicated maximum/eaves heights to circumvent the requirement for planning permission in the UK. Rafters range from solid timbers or engineered timber I-beams. Metal fixings are contained within the model, like M12 bolts and truss clips.
Floor joists at 400mm or 600mm centers are included, as can wall studwork. A simple table containing various insulation materials is included, with the U-value, R-value (international) and R-value (USA) numbers toward a series of diverse thicknesses.

How physically based rendering (PBR) can be used to improve the workflow between Sketchup & Unity

This sketchup video focuses on the following topics :-
 How to develop and quickly UV map in SketchUp for Unity

Physically based rendering (PBR) is the most crucial feature in Unity 5. This new lighting model simulates the natural interactions of light rays and real-world materials. It can be used to produce dynamic materials which include attractive contrast and detail.
If any modification occurs in lighting or in the background, PBR will facilitate the assets to be demonstrated in the manner you like. Nearly all PBR renderers apply some form of image-based lighting, which facilitate the assets to select colors from the adjacent environment.

Groundhog (0.9.6) For Sketchup

IGD, a renowned consultancy company that works for enhancing the interior comfort and energy performance of buildings, has launched Groundhog for Sketchup. This sketchup extension supports SketchUp 2015, SketchUp 2016, SketchUp 2017.

This free and open source extension can be used for executing lighting analysis inside SketchUp. With the use of radiance as its calculation engine, this sketchup plugin facilitates accomplishing various static and climate based daylight analysis.

How to use push/pull tool in sketchup to generate new faces

This is another useful video presentation by Justin Geis. The video briefly highlights how to use push pull tool of sketchup to produce new faces.
The Push/Pull tool is applied to generate a 3D shape out of a flat face or slice a 3D shape out of any model. The push/pull tool can be used for any type of face along with circular, rectangular, and abstract faces.
Just click on a face one time to initiate pushing/pulling it, shift your cursor unless you prefer what you see, and then click for a second time to discontinue pushing/pulling.
Push/Pull is well matched with flat faces. In order to apply it for a curved face, apply something else.
Given below, some useful tips for using push/pull tool :-
If it is required to push/pull a face that’s is very hard to choose, use select tool to preselect the face and then push/pulling the face. If you require to make a fresh start, press Esc.
If you require to pull a face with the intention that it’s parallel with another face, get help from the SketchUp inference engine. Prior to pull the face, hover the Push/Pull cursor over the other face, and the inference engine will notify you when the two faces are parallel.
As soon as you push/pull to add volume to your model, it is possible to double the size of the extrusion or generate a individual but equivalent extrusion:
• To replicate the extrusion on a diverse face, double-click another face.
• To stack an equivalent extrusion on top of the current one, Ctrl+double-click (Microsoft Windows) or Option+double-click (Mac OS X)
